Brierfield Ironworks

Established in 1861 by Caswell Campbell Huckabee and Jonathan Newton Smith, the Brierfield Furnace site was a cornerstone of Alabama’s industrial heritage. Initially known as the Bibb County Iron Company, it evolved into a hub for the production of wrought iron.
